(This also applies to men. ) Here's an article I found in my many internet trolling days....

Face Shape Examples
What’s your face shape? When achieving your ultimate look, pageant hair is perhaps the most important aspect of a finished look. A simple black gown and silver earrings can be considered boring, but an elegant chingnon or layered curls can potentially make you a perfect 10. Your hairstyle can break an entire performance if not done correctly. But how do you know if you’re choosing the right pageant hairstyle based on your facial structure?

What’s Your Face Shape

The first step in finding your perfect pageant hairstyle is understanding which pageant hairstyles work for which face shapes. Here are 6 basic face shapes:
Oval Face Shape - The characteristics of this shape are slightly narrow at the jawline and at the temples with a round-ish hairline. The great thing about having an oval face shape is that you can pretty much carry any hairstyle. Most models have oval face shapes because of the versatility.
Do: Style your pageant hair away from your face.
Don’t: Wear heavy “forward” pageant hairstyles. No bangs or anything that will hide your features.
Rectangular Face Shape- Long and slender. Forehead and area below cheekbones are the same width. Sometimes called “oblong”, rectangular face shapes look best with short to medium lengths. Chances are, if you sport long hair it’s probably not doing you a favor, however style options like buns and ponytails are chic. Middle parts are also great for rectangular faces.
Do: Consider layers, especially around your face. Also, make sure to add volume!
Don’t: Wear your hair long. That lengthens the face  you really don’t need that.
Round Face Shape- This face shape is fuller with a found hairline. A lot of people would characterize this as a “baby face”. Pageant hairstyles that are fuller at the crown really help to balance this out. Much like a modern bob or short hair that’s layered at the top. If you do something like a ponytail make sure you it’s not a slick one.
Do: Choose shorter or layered styles that are cut close to your face. This will make your face appear longer and thinner.
Don’t: Wear middle parts. They will only add to the fullness.
Square Face Shape- If you have a strong jawline as well as a strong hairline, you probably have a square shaped face. They key to balancing this striking face shape out would be to soften the hair. Wavy or curly hair cut in layers and styled around the face will give you a balanced look, as opposed to a bone straight blunt cut, which will be too severe.
Do: Add height around the crown of your head. Also, aim for rounder haircuts. Try keeping the length short to medium, especially around the face.
Don’t: Wear straight bangs or middle parts, which are a bit severe.
Heart Face Shape- Heart shaped faces are wider and the forehead and temples with a narrow and delicate chin. If you have a heart shaped face, it’s important for you to keep your hair chin length or longer. Styles like longer bobs look amazing on people with heart shaped faces. The best part is that people with heart shaped faces tend to have great cheek bones, so you’ll want to show those off!
Do: Wear side parts, bangs, or swept forward styles.
Don’t: Wear styles that are heavier at the top because that will emphasize your wide forehead instead of balancing it out.
Triangular Face Shape- The opposite of the heart shape, with a broader chin and a narrow forehead. You’ll want to lean toward hairstyles that are fuller at the top and thinner or tapered at the bottom. This will help attract attention to your triangular features as well as balance them out.
Do: Try shag haircuts and off-center parts.
Don’t: Wear longer hairstyles because this will emphasize the lower part of your jaw which is big.

Bangs gives your face a softer and easier appearance. A round face should carry short hairstyles, which are combed of the face back away, with much volume on the Top of the face. Short hair-styles or middle hair-styles should square face forms carry and should no straight long hair-styles carry. Women with a heart face should carry hair-styles, which are either chin length, or long hair-styles. Short hair-styles should be avoided.
If you have a
